Cruncher Information and Specifications

The Cruncher is manufactured at our engineering works in Durban, South Africa, and therefore has 100% local content. The crushing mechanism is run by a 220v, single phase 1,1kW motor. For rural areas where there is no electricity, the machine can be supplied (at additional cost) with either a petrol or diesel motor (at the purchaser’s request). The Cruncher weighs approximately 220kg, with approximate dimensions of 1600mm x 870mm x 700mm. It is delivered in a box 1300mm x 900mm x 800mm.

The Cruncher is easily mounted on a small trailer or can be supplied with wheels for transporting on the back of a bakkie.

The Cruncher can process 800kg of glass bottles per hour. The crushed glass reduces the volume of bottles by 8 times, i.e. 8 bins of glass bottles are reduced to 1 bin of crushed glass.

The Cruncher can also process ceramic ware such as chipped or broken plates, cups and saucers, as well as broken window panes and plate glass off cuts (excluding laminated glass panes).

We have the smaller model that can handle single bottles at a time designed for smaller hotels, pubs, restaurants, yachts and households that just want to reduce the volume of their glass.
