Crushed Glass


General Applications for crushed glass include the following

Coarse sand (3mm to 0.8mm)
*         Used in the manufacture of cement bricks and pavers and replaces normal building sand.
*       Spread round the outside of an organic vegetable garden acts as a physical barrier to slugs and snails, thereby alleviating the use of chemicals and pesticides.
*       This glass fraction is widely used in garden landscaping as well as colourful terrazzo floors and concrete counter tops and vanity slabs.
*       Glass “pebbles” are very commonly used to replace synthetic logs or coals in gas fireplaces where the various colours spice up a dingy fireplace.
*        Glass sand is superb aquarium gravel.
*       Heavy duty industrial floor coatings.
*    Grave gravel
*    Used as filter sand for water purification works

Medium sand (0.8mm to 0.4mm) can be used for
  • sandblasting,
  • filtration sand in water filters,
  • golf course bunkers,
  • garden paths, mulch and decoration in gardens.

Fine sand (0.4 to 0.2mm) can be used for
  • sandblasting,
  • bulking and binding agent for paint,
